PropTally ("we", "us", "our") operates the PropTally web application and mobile app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account and use PropTally:

  • •Account information: Email address, display name, and password (hashed with bcrypt). Optionally: birthday, gender, and country for profile personalization.
  • •Trading data: Trade records, account details, payout information, and related analytics that you manually import via CSV files.
  • •Usage data: IP address and user-agent string for security purposes (login audit trail).
  • •Settings: Your app preferences including theme, font, accent color, and display options.

How We Use Your Information

  • •To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • •To authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • •To calculate analytics, scores, and payout eligibility based on your trading data
  • •To display leaderboards and community features (only if you opt in to public sharing)
  • •To send you service-related communications (e.g., weekly digest emails, if enabled)

Data Storage & Security

  • •All data is stored in a SQLite database on our servers. Your data does not leave our infrastructure.
  • •Sensitive personal information (email, name, birthday, gender, country, IP address, user-agent) is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
  • •Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (12 rounds) and are never stored in plaintext.
  • •Authentication uses JWT tokens stored in HTTP-only cookies.
  • •We use HTTPS (TLS) for all data in transit.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Your trading data and profile information may be visible to other PropTally users only if you explicitly enable public sharing features (leaderboards, public profiles). All sharing features are opt-in and disabled by default.

Cookies & Tracking

  • •PropTally uses only essential session cookies for authentication.
  • •We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, Google Analytics, or any third-party analytics scripts.
  • •No data is shared with advertising networks.

Your Rights

  • •Access: You can view all your data within the application at any time.
  • •Export: You can export your payout data as CSV or PDF from the Payouts page.
  • •Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
  • •Correction: You can update your profile information at any time through Settings.

Children's Privacy

PropTally is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete that information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
